Previous Experience: I have been in the telecom industry for over 37 years now with many challenging jobs ranging from 'cord-board operator' to frameperson, observer to Sr. Engineer and Manager. My claim to fame in telecom was becoming a subject matter expert in Local Number Portability and a resource for Illuminet/VeriSign as well as our customers, State Telecom Associations, industry groups and international groups.
Current Experience: So after floundering for a while and trying a variety of different options, at the urging of a family member and some others I meet along the way I decided it was time to knuckle down and find a rewarding career path that I could pursue long-term.
I decided to go into Real Estate and never realized I would like it or get pretty good at it. I am an Independent Real Estate Professional with ReeceNichols in Leawood but work in both Kansas and Missouri. I have been in this position for almost 8 years and have closed many transactions in that time including single family homes, duplexes, vacant land, farm/ranch properties, investment property.
I love showing homes to buyers especially first time buyers. Educating them about the process from beginning to end which fits in well with my past position as an educator and lecturer in the telecom space.
I have a number of investors I work with throughout the KC Metro Area helping them with purchases and resales as well.
But one of my specialties is Senior Citizens. I am a Certified Senior Housing Specialist, having received my credentials from the Senior Real Estate Institute just this past year. Not only can I assist seniors and their families with the transition to a smaller, more suitable living arrangement but I will coordinate the necessary resources to help with the process from the beginning to end - whatever is needed.
As a Realtor, my focus is on providing a remarkable experience to my clients selling their home and/or purchasing a new one. That experience is a reflection of my values, what I believe in and what I stand for as a person.
